House of WoodFired Gigs
We are a new up-and-coming concept restaurant in Diani looking for up-and-coming artists to play regular, semi-regular, and one-off gigs.
Vision
We are aiming to be a venue where artists feel at home and can get early exposure, content, and feedback on their work.
Music policy
- We generally look for acoustic acts with a solo singer/guitarist or duos;
- We are open to original and covers and traditional Kenyan through to alternative rock styles;
Referrals
If you know someone who you think would be a good fit for our line up then we will pay a 6k referral fee for any artists that we book via your introduction.
Our set-up
We are already set-up with a PA system, lighting and a small stage. All you need to bring is your instruments, any effects pedals, and your amazing self 🙂
We want to make sure you sound the best so have imported a full set-up from the US:
- 2x ElectroVoice ELX 200 15P – 15″ Full range speakers on stands;
- Berringher VQ1800D 18″ Subwoofer;
- 1x Mackie Profx10v3 Mixer – 10 channel mixer;
- 1x Shure SM58 microphone;
- 1x Shure SM57 microphone;
- XLR cables to connect instruments inc. guitars to the mixer;
If you have any specific requests please let us know in advance.
Our audience
Generally Diani residents with some tourists. Ages usually range from 30-65.
Costs we’ll cover
We cover reasonable travel expenses and include food and drinks at our venue.
Mombasa based artists
- Taxi to Ferry
- Matatu from Likoni
- Collection and drop-off from Matatu bus stop by Skippers
- Return travel the same day
Nairobi based artists
- SGR from Nairobi + SGR express
- Collection and drop-off from SGR bus stop by Skippers
- Overnight accommodation on-site or nearby
- Return travel via SGR
Receipts are required for SGR and other costs will be paid as a per diem.

FAQs
Q: Can I bring and +1’s, friends, partners?
A: No problem at all and we will include food + drinks for one additional person per artist. However, they will need to cover their own travel costs.
